Congrats Coach Dabo Swinney

I am so excited!  Congrats Dabo, I can't wait to watch our football team over the next few years.  Exciting things are coming!

Here's a link to the story.  ESPN broke it about 10 minutes ago.

Way to go Tigers!

Image from www.greenvilleonline.com

I am so excited that our Clemson Tigers pulled out a big win yesterday against the South Carolina Gamecocks.

I'm really proud how these players really rallied around an interim head coach to win 4 out of their last 5 games after Coach Bowden resigned.  They could have chosen to fold, and give up.  Instead they chose to fight, work as hard as they could, and win.

Thank you Coach Dabo Swinney for taking over a job you didn't ask for.  Not only did you pull a group of kids together that were hurt emotionally and physically halfway into the season, you also led these guys to victory 4 out of 6 times against some very tough teams, including our arch rival.

I don't give my opinion very often on this blog, but this time I will.  Dabo Swinney has earned the job as head football coach of the Clemson Tigers.  Over the 6 games as a head coach, he has demonstrated his ability to motivate the players (our last coach didn't), he garners respect from the players, and he is a winner.  There are many other reasons why I think Dabo is the right man for the job, but I'm going to leave it at that for now.

I hope Clemson makes the correct decision to retain Coach Swinney as head coach.

Gratitude

The definition of "Gratitude" according to Merriam-Webster's dictionary: the state is being grate: or thankfulness.

Today is Thanksgiving in the United States.  Thanksgiving means lots of turkey, dressing, and all kinds of other really tasty food.  It also is a time that we give thanks for all of our blessings.  I want to take the opportunity today to talk about the things I am grateful for.

First off, I'm thankful to God for everything.  Without God nothing else would matter. I want to thank my parents.  Obviously, without them I would not exist.  HAHA! Thank you to my wonderful wife Stacy. We have now known each other for 10.5 years, and have been married for 9.5.  I love you so much and I am very thankful for you.  I am thankful for my children, Ethan and Hannah Grace.  Children really do change everything.

I am very thankful to all of our wonderful clients.  Every single one of you.  If it wasn't for our clients, I would be unable to be in business as a professional photographer.  You guys allow me to be able to work in a profession that I love, and I totally realize it wouldn't be possible if it wasn't for you.

I am thankful for so many other things, but if I wrote everything out I would still be writing at Christmas.  So I'm gonna stop at that.

I hope everyone today takes a moment to talk about gratitude with your family while you enjoy your turkey.  Don't forget what today is really all about.

Family portraits and Christmas cards!

I just want everyone to know that we do have a few slots open this week for family portrait sessions. It's not too late to have family portraits made, or to order Christmas cards from us.

If you would like to book a family session this week, call or email us. We don't expect for these slots to stay open long!

Black Friday sale starting next week!

Starting Thanksgiving day we will start our yearly 50% off sale at www.bluemtnphoto.net. All regular print orders and digital downloads will be eligible for this 50% off sale. All of our 2008 weddings will be back online to view and order from.

We will be sending out an email to everyone that has visited our site to view a 2008 wedding, engagement session, or bridal portrait session to let them know about the promotion and the coupon code for the discount.

The sale will run from Thanksgiving day though midnight on December 6th. It's just an 8 day sale, so if you have prints you need to order, you will want to do so during that time period.

All print orders ordered during this time period are guaranteed to be back on or by Dec 19th. Plenty of time to give them as Christmas gifts.

We look forward to this sale every year because it gives people a chance to order prints or download pictures that may have missed the opportunity during the year.

Slideshows being deleted

I got a message yesterday from my web people that we are way over our maximum allowed allotment of website space. This is because of too many slide shows being on our website. So starting today I will start purging all slideshows from 2007 and early 2008.

If anyone wants a DVD slide show from your event, you may purchase one through us. Just give us a call or email and we can hook you up with a DVD slideshow.

I hope everyone has a wonderful Tuesday!

Allison's bridals

About a month ago I met with Allison, her Mother, and a friend in Clemson to do her bridal portraits. Now since her wedding has passed I can share the pictures!

Allison was such a beautiful bride!

We really had a blast making these images. Especially that next to last one. I was sitting on a hill trying not to roll down it while Allison's Mom was holding the flash in front of her to light her up. The sky was a beautiful bright orange, but I still thought it looked better in war black & white!

It's peanut butter jelly time!

Hannah Grace, like most children, loves peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. We have a ritual. Every time, right before I make one for her, we do our little peanut butter jelly time dance. Basically we hold hands and dance in a circle. It's probably really funny to watch.

On Friday's, Hannah has started staying home with me because her school is only in session Mon-Thurs, and her regular Friday babysitter has hurt her back and can't watch her right now. So this has created Daddy and Hannah Fridays. Basically, we stay home and she plays, and I work from my laptop instead of going in to my office.

Here are some pictures that I took today, and be sure to scroll down to the bottom to see the video I made of her.

Family portraits on Sunday

We are doing family portraits this weekend at a church here in Fountain Inn. We have some spots open on Sunday if anyone needs some new family portraits.

This is a wonderful opportunity to get new family pictures before the rush of the holiday season! There is no sitting fee at all, you only pay for the prints you want. Nothing more.

If you or anyone you know might be interested in this, just call our office today or tomorrow to sign up!

Lauren

As part of our photography workshop we set up some model stations to photograph some models. Due to the fact that I helped organize the event, and I was helping with other things, I only photographed one of our models.

When I met Lauren she told me she had never modeled before, and had no idea how she was gonna do. I'll let you decide

Here is Lauren.

Charleston, SC

As I stated last night, I spent the first 3 days this week down in Charleston.  No matter how many times I have visited Charleston, I always manage to snap pictures of things or places that I haven't shot before.  This time was no exception.

Here are a few images from my walks around town.

More church steeples to add to my collection.

Back from Charleston!

I just got back from being in Charleston for 2 days at an event for photographers that I helped organize.  It was a blast!  I had so much fun meeting new friends and catching up with old friends.
I took some pictures in Charleston, but not many this time.  I will put up some pics of my trip some time over the weekend.  It was a lot of fun!
